The Tomb-Herd ("The Herd that Stand Watch") are from H.P. Lovecraft and E. Hoffmann Price, "Through the Gates of the Silver Key (fiction)", later elaborated in Ramsey Campbell's "The Church in High Street".

The Tomb-Herd are soft, white, immaterial creatures which are drawn through space and time to the tombs of dead wizards to feed upon their magical essence.
