Origin: The Zarr or "Zarrians" are from Richard Tierney's "The Winds of Zarr".
Description
[The Zarr] was at least half again as tall as a man; its skin was dark blue and its eyes, bulging round and expressionless from its domed head, seemed as emotionless as the luminous orbs of the metallic creature fashioned after its own image. Between those evil, round eyes a ridge ran vertically, transected by many horizontal slits that might have been mouths. The legs, shorter in proportion than those of a human, were unjointed, and each terminated in a toeless pad; whereas the arms, also unjointed, branched at the end into three powerful fingers and an opposable thumb. The creature wore a skin-tight suit of exactly the same hue as its dark blue flesh, while about its waist was a broad belt of woven metal that glowed with a dim blue radiance, and upon its brow a disc likewise of glowing blue.

The Zarr (or "Zarrians") are an advanced, fanatical, and ruthless alien race from the planet Zarr located in the galaxy Xentilx, the entire galaxy having been conquered by the Zarr. The Zarr have developed time travel, and serve the Great Old One Zathog, in whose name they now conquer neighboring galaxies with their sights set on the entire universe through time, space, and weather manipulation, nuclear bombardment, and then establishing a puppet cult led by chosen inhabitants of the victim planet.

The Cult of Zathog, consisting primarily of the Zarr and their conquered slaves, is dedicated to serving the Great Old One Zathog, whose goal seems to be to overthrow the Elder Gods and conquer the universe in Zathog's name. (Zathog seems to act in opposition to or conquest of the other Great Old Ones?)
