Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: R (Violence, Profanity, Adult Content, Nudity, Sexual Situations)

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • S____ (One Tentacle: Debateably Lovecraftian; has almost no direct connection to Lovecraft's work)

A group of youngsters use an evil tome to re-animate some undead/demonic witches in a creepy cabin in the woods? This is basically a clone of Evil Dead (1981 franchise), with all the (barely) "Lovecraftian" serial numbers from that series filed off, and a lot of extra nudity and sex scenes added in....

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.The problem with "The Slaughter" is that it almost feels afraid to commit to it's own stupidity."

Synopsis

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)

A group of college students is hired on the cheap by greedy real estate dealer Carl Stevens to clean an isolated house. As the group -- Tyler, his girlfriend, Dana, his adopted brother, Iggy, and their friends -- begins working, a book turns up containing strange incantations. Iggy reads the spells aloud, which unleashes a murderous she-demon who has been lying in wait for almost a century.
