When dealing with Native American communities, it is too broad a brush to consider almost any cultural element to be universal across every group. What is your source on "Stick Indians"? What region was this belief held in, or in what tribal groups or nations?

Generally "Indian" is at best an archaic term in reference to Native peoples and should be avoided if possible.
