Summary

From the back of the box:

Great Old One Pack Two adds four new Great Old Ones to your game! All four are available to ALL factions - but it's first-come, first-served. If you awaken Ghatanthoa first, then no one else has access to it ... unless they can kill it and re-awaken it for themselves. Each Great Old One has its own special ability PLUS its own unique spellbook, which is earned separately from your own. Both the ability and the spellbook are highly useful. These beings are not just new adjuncts to your factions - each Great Old One opens up new strategic possibilities, and bumps up your game in a vigorous way. Meet Atlach-Nacha, Bokrug, Father Dagon, and Ghatanothoa. If you are familiar with the previous Great Old One Pack One, the entities in Pack Two are more unusual, and factor in greater subtlety and game-changing concepts.

ATLACH-NACHA weaves the colossal web of eternity. When complete, the end of the world results. Atlach-Nacha spins his web across the map, and when it is complete, you immediately win the game! He triggers an alternate victory condition only available to his controller. Beware, however, for his Webs are indestructible, and if you lose Atlach-Nacha, and he is awakened by another player, then that player can take advantage of the Webs you spun.

BOKRUG the Water Lizard is a curse, and not a blessing. While initially he is simply a minor, if indestructible, entity supporting your faction, his real power is demonstrated when you actually hand him over to another player! This triggers his spellbook, which hurts that player every Doom phase. He will rue the day Bokrug came to stay.

FATHER DAGON is powerful at sea, but weaker on land. He gives you an Action which washes enemy units from the shore down into the sea depths, where you have better access to them. He also offers great power, at a price - once you have his spellbook in play, each turn you must permanently lose a Cultist in exchange for a massive boost of 6 power. This acts like a kind of timer - you will doubtless be the mightiest faction in the game at first, but you have to win soon, or not at all, as Father Dagon consumes your infrastructure for short-term gains.

The fabled GHATANOTHOA mummifies enemy Cultists with his presence. His spellbook supercharges this ability, enabling you to dry up you enemy's economic engine, as his Cultists topple like bowling pins.

Comments / Trivia

This is an expansion for Cthulhu Wars. It requires a copy of the core game to play. This expansion was a part of the original Cthulhu Wars Kickstarter campaign.
