• S____ (One Tentacle: Debateably Lovecraftian; has almost no direct connection to Lovecraft's work)

Not exactly a "Lovecraftian" film in the sense of being based on any of Lovecraft's work or containing references to his creations, though some viewers may find the location and atmosphere suggestive of Lovecraft's work (an "Eldritch Location" film). The remote location, weird rune-stone, creepy wolf-thing, and a blink-and-you-miss-it reference to astronomy would fit right into a Lovecraft story, but, over all, I found this aspect minimal, and doubt that the film-makers had much Lovecraft in mind when writing the story.

Synopsis

Allegedly based on a true crime, this film is the story of a young married couple honeymooning in a remote resort with an American "photographer", the reclusive resort keeper, and a young widow, and how they all end up mysteriously dead or missing after the keeper reveals a legend about an old oak tree known as "the White Old Man", and a thing that looks like a wolf but isn't appears shortly afterward.
