Talk:Kong
Almost a century of movies since the 1933 original - including sequels, prequels, remakes, reboots, etc., and not to mention other media! - have added a wealth of potential material for Pulp gaming, with more recent entries adding more bizarre and even quasi-Lovecraftian monsters. I've not seen all the movies or expanded universe media, etc., and could not detail the Skull Island section very well. Most of the other content was inspired by or drawn from the (very pulpy!) Skull Island part of the Peter Jackson movie, wherever it seemed more Mythos-friendly than the original 1933 film, with almost nothing included from the various other Kong films, and nothing at all included from the other media (since I'm not familiar with it.) Filling in the Skull Island section with details on the island, its geography, its human population, and a little bit on its monsters would be a great place to expand the article. The section on Kong himself is very sketchy, and could also use some TLC. I deliberately left open what happened after Kong left the island in the movies - specifically, what happened in the New York part of the movies: that's the least Lovecraftian part of the movies, really, and if touched on at all, it might best be treated as a (home-brew) scenario in its own right, given a more Lovecraftian spin than was seen in the film treatments, so perhaps some "heresies and controversies" material to help fuel ideas for that might be useful. - Ywhateley (talk) 06:50, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
