Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: not rated (Equivalent to a PG-13 or R for Violence)

Essentially a 1980s slasher movie where the "killer" is a whole tribe of pygmy puppets, the low-budget cannibal violence is probably just a bit strong for younger viewers, but still rather tame by modern big-budget horror standards.

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • SS___ (Two Tentacles: Barely Lovecraftian; vaguely similar in tone, could be a very loose adaptation)

This weird, feverish, low-budget thing comes off as something like a pulp-era slasher movie, with Tcho-Tcho puppet-people playing the role of the slasher killer, Connecticut standing in for "the North Atlantic" (which in turn is standing in for the more typical tropical hell-hole or summer camp), and 1920s-era shipwreck survivors as the victims.

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.

Synopsis (SPOILERS)

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)

A pulp-style slasher movie in which a tribe of tiny cannibal savages kills off a lifeboat-full of shipwreck survivors one-by-one. Who will survive the terror? Viewers familiar with this sort of thing will probably pick out the Final Girl and the guy who escapes the island with her from a mile away....
