Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: (not rated) (I would expect Violence, Profanity, Nudity, Adult Content)

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • SSs__ (Two and a half Tentacles: sort of Lovecraftian)

I've not yet seen this film. The premise of a party of investigators seeking a translation to the Necronomicon to stop a cult of witches seems "Lovecraftian" enough on paper, but the film trailer looks a bit less so in action than perhaps I'd ideally like: from the trailer, it looks like it might be more of an action/adventure film than a cosmic horror film. Still, the trailer has got just enough of that Evil Dead/Army of Darkness feeling to it that it might still work on this level.

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.
