The Christchurch Cemetery is a fictional location created by H.P. Lovecraft in his story Herbert West - Reanimator. Christchurch Cemetery is the main cemetery of Arkham, Massachusetts. The Cemetery caters to the more affluent dead of Arkham. All bodies there are embalmed. During the 1903 typhoid epidemic Christchurch Cemetery was over burdened, and many burials were delayed. One notable burial during this period was the venerable doctor Allan Halsey. It was also the scene of the brutal murder of one of its watchmen on August 16th 1903.
