Voormis

The voormis are furry hominids that live on the slopes of Mount Voormithadreth in Hyperborea. They are aggressive creatures, hunting large and dangerous prey such as saber-toothed tigers; the humans of Hyperborea hunt the Voormis in turn, but they are considered more dangerous than other animals. They possess "quasi-human cunning" and can fight with thrown objects as well as nails and teeth. The natives of Hyperborea believe them to be at least partially descended from humans.
