This category collects scenarios where investigators are ordinary people from ordinary walks of life, perhaps in a small town, such as homemakers, blue-collar workers, shopkeepers, salespeople, etc., perhaps (but not necessarily) including small-town police officers, local ministers, or town doctors and such, but not necessarily anyone with any special authority or unusual expertise compared to their neighbors.
