Pallid Dancers created by Chad J. Bowser for Malleus Monstrorum

Description

Dressed in tattered rags to match their king, they also wear small golden masks. Nothing is beneath the mask and the wooden frame of a marionette complete with cut strings is found beneath their rags.
Chad J. Bowser, Malleus Monstrorum

A puppet-like creation of the King in Yellow, shaped like a small, child-sized, golden-masked, crowned humanoid figure, dressed in rags and bearing scimitars, which may be gifted to cultists by unnatural servants of the King in Yellow as silent heralds of the imminent arrival of their Creator, inert at first, but rising up like automatons at the arrival of their King to silently dance and whirl to the silent, unearthly rhythms of fevered madness, more and more rapidly and gracefully as the corruption of the King in Yellow advances. The dance is weirdly fascinating, effectively a spell which captivates and enraptures the viewer, who, falling under the spell, cannot look away, even as the Pallid Dancers advance, whirling and leaping about their razor-sharp scimitars, to cut the sanity from their victims, binding the doomed souls to the leprous spirit of the King in Yellow....
