The ultimate tier was a purple cone, from the apex of which a blue smoky mist drifted upward to a sphere that poised in mid-air - a sphere that shone like translucent ivory.
—C. L. Moore, A. Merritt, H. P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard and Frank Belknap Long, The Challenge from Beyond
Juk-Shabb (also known as The God of Yekub) is a Great Old One that debuted in "The Challenge from Beyond" (1935), a "round robin" commissioned for Fantasy Magazine, written by C. L. Moore, A. Merritt, H. P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard and Frank Belknap Long.
Juk-Shabb appears as a shining sphere of energy, using telepathy and color changes to communicate with its worshippers, the centipede-like creatures from planet Yekub (see Inhabitants of Yekub).
