Summary
White Wolf was started in 1986 by the founders of White Wolf Publishing following the success of a trial magazine called Arcanum. Starting life as a fanzine-style general gaming magazine, it became more of a house magazine in later years. Towards the end of it's publication the magazine was renamed Inphobia and focused more on gaming culture than actual gaming, which was a strong contrast to earlier issues which included articles and scenarios.

- As noted above the 30 issue trial magazine was called Arcanum, the name was changed for publication due to a possible rights issue with Palladium Games.
