A manifestation of the dark god, Nyarlathotep. This incarnation first appeared in the short story of the same name, published in 1936, just prior to H.P. Lovecraft's death.
In the story, the manifestation appears as a "three-lobed burning eyed", huge bat-winged creature, which can only travel in the dark. It is often likened to bearing a similarity to Hunting Horrors, though significantly more powerful.
