The tome The Seven Geases originates from Return to Dunwich (Supplement), inspired directly by Clark Ashton Smith's "The Seven Geases (fiction)".

Description

This scroll is a detailed account of medical/psychological experiments conducted by a mad sorcerer, Ezdagor the Hermit, upon an unfortunate ancient Kranorian prince, Ralibur Vooz, who happened to blunder through Ezdagor's subterranean cult compound; in consequence to Ralibur's incautious invasion of the sorcerer's privacy, the prince was subjected to exploratory brain surgery, massive doses of psychedelic drugs, severe psychological trauma, and a curse, and then released into the Cave World under observation by doctors and scribes, who took detailed notes from the shadows while Ralibur tore gentle Voormi people to pieces with teeth and bare hands, before wandering deeper into the caves below though a series of increasingly nightmarish experiences until, his sanity shattered at last, prince Ralibur met an unexpected and ignominious doom that, the scribes noted, was far outside of the carefully-designed parameters of the sorcerer-hermit Ezdagor's experiment. (This is essentially an adaptation of the plot of Clark Ashton Smith's "The Seven Geases (fiction)".)

The tome contains a reasonably detailed description of the Hollow Earth beneath Mount Voormithadreth in Ancient Kranoria which might still be usable in the modern era as a rough guide to those caverns, along with descriptions of a number of the underground horrors to be encountered there including Voormis, Tsathoggua, Atlach-Nacha, Abhoth, Yig, and more, including a short side-trip to see Haon-Dor on the planet Saturn.
