Clean up the front page list; use a table; check out: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Main_Page as an example. --[[User:Squashua|Squashua]] 17:24, 18 January 2006 (EST)

Need some form of organization here.  If anything is a duplicate, suffix it with (RPG) or (Fiction) or whatever is appropriate (see Wikipedia and search for "Orion" for examples)

==Changing the URL==

I'd like to suggest changing the URL.

Currently the URL is under a wiki subdirectory of Yog-Sothoth.  I am under the impression that the laws have changed so that if you OWN a url, you own *.yoururl.com; meaning that this could be changed so that the primary website at www.yog-sothoth.com directs to the PHPNuke site, and that [b]wiki.yog-sothoth.com[/b] directs to the wiki. --[[User:Squashua|Squashua]] 09:01, 19 January 2006 (EST)

== Cthulhu Mythos vs. Mythos Vade Mecum ==
+
==Wiki.yog-sothoth.com==
* I think that the category '''Cthulhu Mythos''' would be better than '''Mythos Vade Mecum'''; it is much clearer. How will we differentiate between the ''real life'' literary discussion of themes and tropes, and the entries that are like those in [[Encyclopedia Cthulhiana]]? --[[User:Jeff Campbell|Jeff Campbell]] 10:39, 2 February 2006 (EST)
+
*Currently we re-direct wiki.yog-sothoth.com to www.yog-sothoth.com/wiki/
**The reason you think that, is because <i>it is</i> much clearer to say "Cthulhu Mythos." Using Latin terms in place of well known  and well used English ones is going to keep folks from adding new pages. --[[User:Phobia|phobia @ the Shoggoth Network]] 11:20, 2 February 2006 (EST)

It's cleaner to simply keep and run the wiki at wiki.yog-sothoth.com
***<MORTAL KOMBAT>'''IT HAS BEEN DONE!'''</MORTAL KOMBAT> --[[User:Squashua|Squashua]] 17:36, 2 February 2006 (EST)

Would suggest looking into it - allows access and usage to be tracked easier.

**If we separate fact vs. fiction within the scope of each entry, we should be fine.  To every factual entry, we can have a "So and So within the Cthulhu Mythos" section.  This could easily work for Historic Locations/Figures, etc.  Items that have both fact and fiction entries, such as [[Aleister Crowley]] - he appears in [[Golden Dawn (Adventure)]] IIRC - can be listed under both [[:Category:Historical Occultists]] and [[:Category:Tenebrous Persons]] --[[User:Squashua|Squashua]] 11:13, 2 February 2006 (EST)

==Basic Wiki Rules==
Need to establish basic wiki rules of use/conduct.  Make sure that people know how to use the wiki.  I recomment signing any comment you make as follows: append "<nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki>"; this will produce a signature like the one that follows this paragraph. See [[Tutorial:Cthulhuwiki Rules]].  --[[User:Squashua|Squashua]] 13:48, 19 January 2006 (EST)

== The Date/Year Pages ==
I see that a lot of information has been extracted from the original Wikipedia.  Since this is simply a smaller, more-focused, and less-travelled wiki, I recommend that you remove the year pages and stick with each era: 1890s, 1920s, Modern, and link individual years as necessary, leaving only what information would be relevant to the Cthulhu Mythos.  The enormous linked list of deaths, etc. is overkill.  To summarize: I would recommend cleaning out these pages, outside-linking to the relevant Wikipedia entry from a centralized era page, and keeping internal links as needed. --[[User:Squashua|Squashua]] 10:46, 31 January 2006 (EST)

Fact vs. Fiction

Basic Wiki Rules

The Date/Year Pages

A lot of information has been extracted from the original Wikipedia. Clean out these pages, outside-linking to the relevant Wikipedia entry from a centralized era page, and keep internal links as needed. All years should incorporate both Fact and Mythos/Fiction elements, but Fiction must be highlighted. There is a {{mythos|text}} template for this.

CoC:Supplements or Not ?

Need to determine if we should sub-categorize the supplements found on Category:CoC:Supplements. Input needed. Rules Books, 1890's Setting, 1920's Setting, Modern Setting, etc. --Squashua 18:15, 3 February 2006 (EST)
