Based on the trailer, it looks like a loose adaptation of Lovecraft's story, with the story transplanted from a church in 1920s Lovecraft Country to a mental institution in 21st century Russia, and characters' names changed to Russian equivalents, and no doubt other changes to accommodate the new setting.
