Nath-Horthath, a minor Dreamlands god worshipped in Celephaïs, appeared in H.P. Lovecraft's "Celephaïs (fiction)" and Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath (fiction).
Cult of Nath-Horthath
The turquoise temple of Nath-Horthath is served by eighty orchid-wreathed priests, and orchid-crowned high priest of Nath-Horthath. Though Nath-Horthath is chiefly worshipped in Celephaïs, all the Great Ones are mentioned in diurnal prayers in the Temple; and the priest was reasonably versed in their moods.
Heresies and Controversies
- Sandy Petersen and Chaosium add more details to Nath-Horthath in H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands, describing him as having jet-black skin, a silver chain around his neck and a silver warhammer, a gold and opal crown, and being accompanied by lions, which are sacred to Nath-Horthath and to Celephaïs; the god is easily angered, and constantly bickers with the other Elder Gods.
