Summary

Written between the years 1917 and 1935, this collection features Lovecraft's trademark fantastical creatures and supernatural thrills, as well as many horrific and cautionary science-fiction themes, that have influenced some of today's writers and filmmakers, including Stephen King, Alan Moore, F. Paul Wilson, Guillermo del Toro, and Neil Gaiman. Comments / Trivia

• This is allegedly a variation on the 2011 second printing of the Barnes & Noble "H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction" text (even using the same font), which corrected "hundreds, maybe thousands" of typos found in the 2008 first printing, but somehow introduced many new typos. An attempt was made to identify all the new errors, and it seems this Knickerbocker version started making those corrections, and then stopped part of the way through. This variant apparently replaced S.T Joshi's introduction and commentary, along with some curiosities (the Juvenalia and discarded draft of "Shadow Over Innsmsouth") with a new introduction by the new editor, plus a "recommended reading" list and a short biography of Lovecraft.
