Pnakotus, the magnificent lost city of the Great race of Yith (also referred to as Pnakotis, the Library City or The Lost City of Archives) is believed to be located somewhere in Australia's Great Sandy Desert.
This magnificent city is where the Yithians housed their enormous library.
The library of Pnakotus held the Pnakotic Manuscripts, legendary tomes which contain a detailed chronicle of the Great Race's history and culture. Copies of this manuscript would later be passed down through the ages, eventually falling into the hands of sinister cults which would guard them into modern times.
Pnakotus was first introduced in the H.P. Lovecraft novella The Shadow out of Time, published in 1936.
