A counsel for the U. S. State Department is found savagely mauled, and his daughter vanished. While conducting research at the Library of Congress, the intrepid investigators have been informed of the case by a mutual friend at the State Department.

Keepers may want to think up some rationale for the Peltons' attack, given the suspicion it's bound to raise even if successful.
The escape options from the ambush suggest making multiple Climb or Swim rolls, which leaves a vanishingly small chance of success (possibly an artefact of early editions).
