Von denen Verdammten

Von denen Verdammten (AKA Von denen Verdammten, oder: Eine Verhandlung über die unheimlichen Kulte der Alten, "The Damned, or: An Investigation into the Sinister Cults of the Old Ones") is statted out in the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Rulebook, and originates in "Darkness, My Name Is (fiction)" by Eddy C. Bertin.

Description

Von denen Verdammten, by Kazaj Heinz Vogel in 1700, copied and reissued in 1907 by Edith Brendall; the tome discusses, among other things, information about Cyäegha and its cult in the small German town of Freihausgarten. After the tome was published by Vogel, the German authorities seize and destroy all but two copies, which are held in the restricted collections of German libraries. Edith Brendall, a young woman with a photographic memory, somehow gains access to one of the two copies of Kazaj Heinz Vogel's book, memorizes, copies, rewrites, and adds to the original, releasing it (at her own expense) as Von denen Verdammten, oder: Eine Verhandlung über die unheimlichen Kulte der Alten ("The Damned, or: An Investigation into the Sinister Cults of the Old Ones"). Most copies of this reprint are bought or hastily stolen after its release, and Brendall soon suspects that she's being followed. She moves from city to city to evade her pursuers but disappears in Bonn; eight days later, her body is discovered in the Rhine.
