The Gn'icht' Tyaacht (AKA "Nuwandans", "Tree Spirits", "Children of Nuwanda", "Guardians of Nuwanda", etc.) are from Pete Tamlyn's "The Horror of the Glen".

Description

...A humanoid creature some seven feet in height but thin and lanky with a long pointed head. The creature has huge claws at the ends of its fingers, and prominent, sharply pointed teeth.
Pete Tamlyn's "The Horror of the Glen"

Gn'icht' Tyaacht - the Children of Nuwanda - are a carnivorous, man-eating race of humanoid tree "spirits" which are spawned by a sacred, black-leafed alien tree called Nuwanda or Grandfather Nuwanda or Old Man Nuwanda, found deep in the jungles of Africa. A local tribe, the Ikambi cult, worships the tree and its Children, sacrificing human victims to them by hanging the victims and draining them of blood. For the first five years of life, the Children are extremely voracious and dangerous, but can be tamed by the cultists by controlling them with magic and feeding them sacrifices until they have matured, settling into an existence as guardians for Nuwanda. The Children - Gn'icht' Tyaacht in the native tongue - take the form of humanoid creatures about seven feet (over two meters) tall, thin and lanky, with a long, pointed head, huge claws, and prominent, pointy teeth.

  • These tree-man entities are suspiciously similar to the Tree-Men of M’bwa, and might be a related (or the same) species. (YSDC)
