Description

In former dreams Carter had seen quaint lumbering Buopoths come shyly out of that wood to drink, but now he could not glimpse any.

Among the strange wildlife that might be found along the Dream River Oukranos are the shy Buopoths that lumber out of the forests to drink from the river's waters - the rarely-seen beast is sacred to Oukranos, and it is unlucky to describe it, but according to fable, those who see one are destined for strange fortune, either good or ill.
