The cause of the earthquakes are the actions of a former cultist turned Ghoul who is trying to drive the people in the area away so that the region may be turned into a center of cultist activity for the purpose of raising Cthulhu.
In the original magazine version of the scenario, there is less information about what is inside the abandoned farm, the PCs find. The hole containing the copy of The Revelations of Glaaki now needs a spot hidden roll to find.
