Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: not rated (equivalent to an R for Violence, Profanity, Adult Content, Nudity, etc.)

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • SS___ (Two Tentacles: Barely Lovecraftian; vaguely similar in tone, could be a very loose adaptation)

Loosely based on the last, unfinished short story by Edgar Allan Poe unofficially titled "The Light-House", this movie does not strongly resemble the work of either Poe or Lovecraft, but there are some Deep Ones and an oppressive, bleak atmosphere to be found here.

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.

Synopsis (SPOILERS)

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)

Marooned on a remote peninsula and haunted by frightening specters, a young man must confront the grotesque denizens of the night, or heed the Lighthouse Keeper's cryptic warning to, 'Always keep a light burning!' The story takes a sort of "Carnival of Souls" turn where the young mad and all the other characters are actually dead and both haunting the lighthouse, and haunted by it.
