***Changed it to black-on-black.  If this still causes a problem, I recommend we go to the standard Wikipedia Style as putting spoilers on a second page damages flow/readability/maintainability worse than highlighting would. --Squashua 09:31, 4 February 2006 (EST)

**That works fine. The only problem I can foresee is that it cannot be printed, but of course one could copy and paste and then print. I don't image that will be a problem. Bubbles17 05:39, 8 February 2006 (EST)

***See the templates at :Category:Style Guides - each of them is designed so that (1) the Spoilers are not highlighted, but (2) the spoilers are properly categroized at the bottom of the page, with a disclaimer, beyond any other potential non-spoiler information. --Squashua 09:36, 8 February 2006 (EST)

** CANCEL.  The above kind of sucks and it is lousy for anchor tags - I tried to come up with a solution, but the wiki will not let me re-do anchor tags.  Instead, I'll customize one or two templates from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Spoiler_warning as Keeper/Player warnings and plot warnings. --Squashua 16:48, 2 February 2006 (EST)

Spoiler Template

A spoiler template exists. All you have to do is put your text here into your text.

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)
And it looks just like this!

The above is ok, but it doesn't work if there are links - the wiki will not allow one to insert items into the CSS tags. Approved "official wikipedia" spoiler tags styles are here, but I do prefer the highlight. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Spoiler_warning --Squashua 16:48, 2 February 2006 (EST)

  • It also is very difficult to read on an LCD monitor as the white, selected text and grey background are just about the same. Perhaps it works better if the grey is darker or even black. Bubbles17 05:40, 4 February 2006 (EST)
    • I just saw the spoiler at The Call of Cthulhu (fiction) article. I absolutely cannot read this unless I copy and paste into a word processor and chance the text colour. A lot of bother frankly. Bubbles17 05:46, 4 February 2006 (EST)
      • Changed it to black-on-black. If this still causes a problem, I recommend we go to the standard Wikipedia Style as putting spoilers on a second page damages flow/readability/maintainability worse than highlighting would. --Squashua 09:31, 4 February 2006 (EST)
    • That works fine. The only problem I can foresee is that it cannot be printed, but of course one could copy and paste and then print. I don't image that will be a problem. Bubbles17 05:39, 8 February 2006 (EST)
      • See the templates at Category:Style Guides - each of them is designed so that (1) the Spoilers are not highlighted, but (2) the spoilers are properly categroized at the bottom of the page, with a disclaimer, beyond any other potential non-spoiler information. --Squashua 09:36, 8 February 2006 (EST)
