==Summary==


"Somewhere in the crowd... sometimes you find someone very special. Someone who hears the unheard. Someone who understands the mystery. Sometimes, there's someone who sees with the third eye!" ''The Third Eye'' was a miniseries that aired on Nickelodeon in the early 1980s, consisting of a handful of serials made (and previously released) in Britain and New Zealand. The unifying theme of the show (and hence the name of the title, and opening montage sequence) was that of children with psychic powers.

Generally not very "Lovecraftian", though there are some disparate elements from the different stories that wouldn't be incompatible with Lovecraft's universe: ancient and buried secrets, sinister mysteries, witches and sorcerers, aliens, standing stones, the blending of science and the supernatural, intrusions upon this world from other times and places and dimensions, psychic journeys through space and time, and apparently a suitably dark and ethereal atmosphere in a couple of the serials.

* "Children of the Stones" - The adventures of the young, psychic son of an astrophysicist after they arrive in a small village built in the midst of a megalithic stone circle, under the influence of a "time circle" and "psychic bubble".
* "The Haunting of Cassie Palmer" - A young girl, a seventh child of a seventh child, begins to manifest psychic abilities in spite of her desire not to. After her mother, who makes a living as a psychic, is revealed as a fraud and is threatened with prosecution, the girl tries to help by attempting to summon a harmless spirit, but instead conjures the dark and threatening spirit of "Mr. Deverill".
* "Into the Labyrinth" - Three children are lent psychic powers by a sorcerer and sent into a labyrinth on a quest through time to free prisoners held by the sorcerer's evil counterpart. (Only the first of three seasons/stories of this serial were broadcast on Nickelodeon.)
* "Under the Mountain" - Two young twins with limited telepathic abilities, an alien called "Mr. Jones", and a pair of sentient stones in a parallel world join together to defeat an evil alien living under a mountain.
* "The Witches and the Grinnygog" - An ancient English church is moved to a new site but one stone - a strange statue called the Grinnygog - is found to be missing; its accidental rediscovery leads a group of children to solve a mystery and make amends for an ancient injustice.
