''The Eltdown Shards'' is the title of a fictional book created by [[Richard F. Searight]] in his story "The Sealed Casket" in ''Weird Tales'', March 1935. He created the book as a headnote to the story, but it was published without the headnote. Lovecraft later cited these in [[The Shadow out of Time]] and [[The Challenge from Beyond]]. "He cited the unpublished headnote in a letter to Clark Ashton Smith (c. March 1935, SL. 5.112) leading some to believe that he wrote it." (Joshi & Shultz, 2001).
