{{Spoiler|From his deathbed, Guang Ying implores the investigators to follow the sorcerer Sayk Fong Lee to Manchuria. Only then can they warn Agaï Chen that the villain has kidnapped his daughter. If they fail, and the sorcerer becomes the Ransomer of Divine Right, anyone bearing the Seal of the Dragon will become his thrall. Meanwhile, Louis Lonsdale's papers put the investigators on the trail of a group of monks and a strange tome called the Necronomicon.

The voyage by air requires frequent pitstops from Paris to Darien. At these locations, the investigators have the opportunity to learn more about Sayk Fong Lee's plans, but they must also evade traps he has set for them or forces he has stirred up against them.
