Ngyr-Khorath is said to have existed before the planets, haunting the star-spaces, appearing as a dark blue-green mist which causes a sense of terror as it approaches, an eye of flame forming within. Enraged by the arrival of life in the universe, Ngyr-Khorath began devouring stars. Its legend (part of the so-called "Mlandoth Myth Cycle") appears in the ''[[Book of Thoth]]'', ''[[The Chronicles of Thrang]]'', ''[[The Texts of Mloeng]]'', and the ''[[Uralteschrecken]]'', in which Von Könnenberg suggests that Ngyr-Khorath is an aspect of [[Mlandoth and Mril-Thorion]]. Ngyr-Khorath has a cult, and an avatar, 'Ymnar, which he spawned by fission, and his nemesis is the Elder God [[Paighon]].
