A party of archaeologists discovers the remnants of a mutant five-millennia-old Sumerian civilization living beneath a glacier atop a mountain in Mesopotamia. The albino mutants are burned by bright light, and control a population of degenerate "mole people" slaves who farm mushrooms for their food. The mutants believe the archaeologists to be gods when it is discovered that they came from the world above bringing electric flashlights, but soon scheme against the party, who are saved by their kindness towards the mole people and a non-albino underworld girl who was meant to be sacrificed to the light, who all defend the archaeologists from the mutants. The party manages to escape from the underworld realm just before a cave collapses.<br />
