	A musician and writer, Keith was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1949. He first discovered H.P. Lovecraft via a Ray Bradbury story, "Pillar of Fire," in the early 1960s. Intrigued by an author Bradbury chose to compare to Poe, Keith sought out Lovecraft at the local library and read all three of the Arkham House collections front to back.
