Die Welt ist eine Verschwörung und die Charaktere sind mittendrin! Als Mitglieder einer Geheimgesellschaft tauchen sie in die dunkle Welt des Unerklärlichen ein.
Im Zeichen des doppelgesichtigen Januskopfes finden sich in der Janus-Gesellschaft seit 1690 Menschen zusammen, die mit wissenschaftlichem Eifer die Mysterien der Menschheit zu enträtseln suchen. Dabei unterstützt sie die Gesellschaft mit einem verborgenen Netz aus weltweiten Stützpunkten, den Fakultäten.
Bei ihren Forschungen stoßen die Jakobiten nicht selten auf das Wirken des fauligen Cthulhu-Mythos. Und dieses gefährliche Wissen umweht nicht nur der lichte Schleier des Todes, die Charaktere werden feststellen müssen, dass selbst in ihrer eigenen Gesellschaft nicht alle auf derselben Seite stehen.
Neben ausführlichen Informationen zum Hintergrund der Geheimgesellschaft und ihren Mitgliedern können die Charaktere in drei Abenteuern ihr Debüt als Janobiten geben. Hier merken sie eindringlich, dass die Welt nicht schwarz oder weiß ist - sie ist grau und doppelgesichtig.

''Die Janus-Gesellschaft'' (The Janus-Society) provides a homebase for PCs in the 1920s. It's a secret society adhering to the ideals of the Enlightenment and routed in christian principles. It has faculties all around the globe and finances expeditions to uncover the mysteries of the world. It's members, through dabbling in the occult, find themselves often at odds with other secret societies as well as the Mythos.

The goal of this publication is similar to what [[Pagan Publishing]] did with [[Delta Green]] and [[The Golden Dawn (Supplement)|The Golden Dawn]]; to provide a reason and a framework for investigators to regularly confront the mythos.
