A family in a creepy, isolated North Dakota farmhouse are terrorized by "angels" from another dimension who kidnap members of the family, replace them with doppelgangers, as part of a plan to invade Earth. After the aliens take the family's son, the father (actually an alien "sleeper agent" who doesn't realize it) retaliates by abducting one of the aliens, resulting in minor interdimensional war until the aliens get what they want: a foothold on Earth....

Although this then becomes the least interesting aspects of the film. There is nothing new that the film does with the genre’s tropes, no new ground it uncovers, just a reshuffling of familiar aspects."
