Denizen of Yaddith
The Denizens of Yaddith are from H.P. Lovecraft and E. Hoffman Price's "Through the Gates of the Silver Key (fiction)".
Description
Throngs of clawed, snouted beings... rugose, partly squamous, and curiously articulated in a fashion mainly insect-like yet not without a caricaturish resemblance to the human outline.
— H.P. Lovecraft and E. Hoffman Price, "Through the Gates of the Silver Key (fiction)".
A vaguely insectoid alien race of brilliant scientists and wizards who had mastered faster-than-light travel through space and relative dimensions. Their world was laid waste by the monstrous Dholes, sending the Denizens into exile across the galaxy, sometimes being encountered on alien worlds aand in the Dreamlands and other dimensions. At least one was reportedly encountered on Earth in the 1930s, barely disguised as a human wizard wrapped in a heavy cloak, mask, gloves, and turban to present a less shocking appearance to those it contacted here, and there may be other Denizens walking among us.
